Yes, nowadays, cars coming out of Japan are comparable to US built. My CRV which was made in Japan has some fit issues, nothing that bothered me, but still quite disappointing. Anyway US is gaining up on quality of assembly.

Nowhere to go but up....US built cars will eventually be at par (with Japan assembled)...maybe they are today. I am pretty sure Toyota knows where each Plant is relative to one another...in terms of scrap, efficiency, ppm.

I have an 08 RX350. Built in Canada. Didn't vote in the poll because there's no 2008 choice...

Based on actual experience Canadian built cars are better in fit-form-function than US....but things might have changed. I remember the 1st Pilot that came off the Honda Alabama Plant were besieged by problems.....prior to that Honda Canada was doing them.

Are the 08's still split between Japan and Canada? Means capacity is an issue?

Can't vote either...

I also have the 2008 RX350 and it was built in Japan.
I had to special order mine to get exactly what I wanted. It arrived at the dealership in 4 weeks. I was surprised to get it that quick since they told me it would take 3 to 4 months. So I got an early surprise.

I'm with the Beerwolf. I got my '08 2 weeks ago in SoCal. Mine is made in Japan, too. But salesman said I was lucky to get Japanese car, said in his experience J cars are better. Also that the new ones built there are hard to find, even in CA.

2008 RX, Made in Canada. Only 600 miles on it so not sure if it is better than Japan or not, so far okay.
