We recently got a 2007 RX 350 AWD with NAV/PREM PKG in Bamboo Pearl that was made in Japan. We got it within a week or two of ordering (since it was already on the ship coming over from Japan). So it is possible to get a RX 350 made in japan.

Questions - What % of RX350 are made in Japan these days? Are they all equipped with the Navigation w/ML audio package (with or without DVD RSES)or ML audio package alone? Also, are most Japanese built RX350 usually ship to west coast?

I have a 2005 rx 330 made in Canada. I never knew at the time I could have bought one from Japan, I wish I did though. I talked to my salesman today and he told me that only the base models of the rx are made in Japan but from all these posts it seems he is wrong. I am in Canada does anyone in Canada have a premium package made in Japan???
Thank you
Thank you

Of course not, its just a perception some people make. I would think the Cambridge plant would make better quality products because their assembly line "only" assembles the RX350 and Kyushu plant makes both the Highlander and rx at the same line. And quality standards should be the same or better as Lexus wouldn't want it any other way.

I am a supplier of automotive plastic parts to the OEM's including Honda and Toyota, generally made in Japan is better. But North American plants try to match or beat Japan's Quality. You have an even chance of getting good parts made in Canada and or USA. Personally, and this is not to slight us here in the States, Canadians assembled better than US. That's from experience, I have visited Canadian and US plants.
