i drive rx 330 and having the delayed transmission from second to third gear as mentioned by many owners before.interestingly i was driving my wife,s car it is camry 2002 v6 and the trany was acting exactly as the lexus.both are very clear in the morning when the car is still cold.

This helps in getting the engine temprature to optimum level quickly and thereby reducing pollution. These are green machines ... not exactly but are environment friendly. You will not help the cause if you idle a while to bring up the temp. Just dont push the RX till it warms up.
