Default *2005* RX330 (Not Hybrid) Info Wanted: Price, Options, Bluetooth, Availability,

Buying an RX330, will sell/trade in 4 or 5 years so I figure its makes Financial sense to get the 2005.
1. Will I win with resale considering the 04's are selling at Invoice?
2. If I buy in Mid-late Sept, how much of a discount from MSRP should I expect?
3. "She" wants the Breakwater Light Blue color with TAN interior, Navigation, Rear Camera, Rotating Headlights, Bluetooth, Laser Cruise, and the basics... Will all these options together be tough to get so early in the model year, will the options make the dealer less inclined to negotiate? What about that color, am I the only guy that thinks its a bit "fruity" (I'll be driving it 10% of the time).
4. Is Bluetooth really coming out?
5. Is there a price increase for 2005?

Thank you!

I would bet that price would go up a little 500-1000

For # 1: It depends if you put a lot of miles on the car. If you do, you might be better off with an 04, because you'll have one "free" year to put miles on. For example, if you drive 20K a year, two years from now you'll have either an 04 that's three years old with 40K miles, or an 05 that's two years old with 40K. The 04 looks like a "normal" drive at 13K/year, while the 05 looks like a "high mileage" car at 20K/year. If you don't put on a lot of miles, I'd probably wait for 05 at this point just to see what new options come out.

For # 2: I'd be really surprised if you couldn't deal on an 05 like you can on an 04 unless Lexus intends to reduce the number of 05 RX's being built. The price might go up a little, just because I agree that I'd expect MSRP to go up a little.

For # 3: Breakwater Blue is a pretty color, especially since it's one of the colors that changes dramatically based on the amount of sunlight. (Really light blue in bright light, and a little darker on a cloudy day.) No, I don't think it will hurt your masculinity.

For # 4 and 5: Don't know for sure!

Thanks for the replies guys, please keep em coming!
Did everyone know the RX330 has a Tire Pressure monitoring system standard ? If your tire gets real low, a light or a sound will be displayed from the dashboard.

Hmmm .... since Lexus puts cars out on the lots in certain packages it might be tough to get it with the exact options you want. It'll be interesting to see how they send them out this year especially concerning the auto cruise (that didn't make it out last year as far as I know). We do know that the Prem Plus pkg that they sent out last year, won't be sent out in mass quantities this year ... it'll be packaged along with the Navigation this year like most at the end of '04 were sent out. You can special order and I've been told that takes 90-120 days most likely.

I would imagine a $500 increase or so for the model year ... my dealer told me not to expect a huge increase, but there will be some increases in technology that may be needed to make up cost like 8 way passenger seat and updated Navigation for 05 -- 750,000 Points of Interest in the 04 Navigation will jump to 8,000,000 POIs in the 05s. Also gets voice activation as well.

At least around here I don't expect to deal on an 05 like I would an 04, but there aren't many Lexus dealerships around here and the two that are within 60 miles are owned by the same people.

From what I've heard Bluetooth is coming out, but you never know how these things can change, right? Sounds like the AFS (adaptive front headlight system -- swivel lamps) will be packaged with all RXs with HIDs.

I personally don't care for the Breakwater Blue, but of course it's a personal preference ... there really isn't a whole lot of color difference and that color is one that is definitely different from the others. Personally I think I'm going for black, but that's neither here nor there. Considered Flint Mica and Silver as well.
