I've noticed that when I push the engine semi-hard (from a rolling stop revving to about 5K) then cruising @ 70mph, this obnoxious sulfur smell comes in thru I guess the AC. Is this normal? Never happened on my IS or Prelude.

i have had the same problem with every lexus i have had also the loaner cars lexus has givin me i have no idea what its from either

My service writer told me that Lexus cars have a flatulence problem. Mine does this way as well.

Does it smell like gun powder? My last car had the same issue. My mechanic checked and found a small leak on the rubber tube that leads to the PCV valve.

No such problem on my RX300.

There is a TSB for this sulfur issue on the 99. I am not sure it is on the other years or not. Anyone had a copy of what to fix on the TSB?

The AC button needs to be on recirculate or else the AC draws air from outside of car.
When running the AC on the coldest setting the AC should shift to recirculate automaticly.
But any other temp set will cause it to bring in outside air and outside odors.

My IS does the same thing. I've never been able to do it when I've taken it to the dealer though. Usually any semi-aggressive driving of the engine elicits a definite sulfur (rotten egg) smell.

yes iam telling you guys i had a LS 400 GS 300 i had two loaners RX 330 and IS 300 they all did it !!!!
