i made the mistake of taking the entire fog light assembly out before realizing that all i had to do was go underneath the car, reach under where the bulb was, twist it out, replace the bulb with my HID like one, then twist it back on. its easier once you get use to it and takes no tools. my lights look so much better with the HID lights, and HID like fogs, then with the HIDs and ugly stock fog bulbs..they were too contrasting, whereas now it looks a lot better. by the way, you need 9006 bulbs (which im sure u saw in the manual).

hey bud thanx a lot for the info. so basically all you have to do is go underneath the car and reach your hand in there?? sounds simple. thanx a lot. ye i know the bulb is 9006 but im not switching to the hid look alike bulbs but rather to the ion super yellow kind. similar to the yellow color you see on the Lexus GS. should look very good. the bulbs werent that expensive either. im supposed to be getting them soon. thanx again

I too am planning on changing out the stock 9006's to something that mathces the color of the HID's...maybe Sylvania Silver Stars. A buddy of mine, however, suggested that I use 9005's(highbeams) so that I get a brighter light. All that needs to be done is file down a tab thats on the 9005's so that it will fit in the 9006 socket.

i got them from a guy off ebay. they cost $25.99 and shipping was lightning fast. i ordered them yesterday and they came today. his name on ebay is mtecpower. and the bulbs are from japan and theyre made by a company which is pretty reputable and is called mtec. i was very pleased with the quality of the bulbs and i just put them in today. they look good and give off a very noticeable difference from stock. out of curiosity do you have any pics of the bulbs you were looking at?

the yellow 9006's can be found here: http://store.racinglab.com/po90puyesube.html

can you get a picture of yours? i couldn't find mtecpower on ebay or ebay motors in the search - help? 26 bucks is much less than 75.

what kinda bulb is the one in the high beam area, but its a smaller one above the high beam light. the one that comes on when your hid's are on. I thought it would look cool to change that one to blue or purple.

Those little bulbs are the DRLs (daytime running lights). They will be on all the time even if your headlights are on or off. This set up is a whole lot better on the RX-330 over the RX300 where the high beams and DRLs are the very same bulbs with resistors and curcuitry to throttle back the power for DRL and back for high beams. Stupid idea I always thought! I know that Willard West changed the curcuit on his RX-300 so that the fog lights were his DRLs instead of the high beam bulbs (very clever mod too!) .
