04 RX330 "Hidden" NAV Service Menu....
I was poking around the various websites in hopes that I would find a "service" menu so I could access the rear camera withought putting the vehicle in reverse. I came accross this post for the IS300: http://www.is300.net/modules.php?nam...ht=hidden+menu
I give it a try, and there is indeed a service menu. Mostly for diagnostics and calibration. I selected the "camera test" but nothing happened. Other interesting info in this menu. Let me if you guys/gals, find any other "hidden" features.

The camera test activates the rear view camera if the car is started. The car doesn't have to be off to get into the service menus, and the parking brake doesn't have to be set. In fact, you don't even have to be in park. It is quite possible (though probably not a good idea) to do it while the vehicle is in motion:
1) Make sure your headlights are switched off.
2) Press & hold the information button
3) flip your headlights on & off three times with the switch on the end of the stalk
4) press the blue button in the upper right corner to get to the service menu
5) press the bottom button.
Be careful. The rear view monitor is enough to make me nauseous just driving through the parking lot.
Getting out of this mode is a bit tricky:
1) Press the blue OK button in the lower left of the camera test screen.
2) Hold the Info button & flip the headlights 3 times to get to the first Japanese menu.
3) Release the Info button
4) Hold the Info button & flip the headlights 3 times to get to the 2nd Japanese menu.
5) Press the blue button in the lower right.
You are now back to normal.
Be very careful about doing this while driving. Just because you can doesn't mean it's a good idea. It takes two hands and a fair amount of coordination, which doesn't leave you with a lot of steering ability. I did it in a parking lot at slow speed with no one around.
More useful things to do at speed would be to monitor the speed or GPS coordinates.
