That is an old article. Last paragraph states " The 2016 Lexus RX 350 will show up on the USA market in the March 2015."

I'm guessing these comments are in response to feedback from dealers on the 4RX asking why it still doesn't have a 3rd row.
Lexus is exploring adding a third-row seat to the all-new RX, the two-row version of which is poised to start rolling into Lexus showrooms this fall. In an interview with Reuters, Lexus general manager Jeff Bracken said that the brand’s U.S. dealers are clamoring for an RX with room for seven or eight passengers. It’s their “number-one request,” according to the report.
If the project gets the green light—which could happen as soon as this fall or early next year, we’ve been told—expect the new model to appear fairly quickly. “We don’t want to wait for a next generation” to make it available, Bracken told Reuters.

That's actually on display in a place that is less than an hour from the place I live!
Too bad it's in black though… Never liked the color and it is not terribly popular in Japan in general.
Sonic quartz was created specifically for the new NX/RX line, so it would've made sense to put that out instead, OR the brand new (only on 4RX) deep blue one (they have all over on web site and in CMs). Oh well…*beggars can't be choosers… right.
