Default What about service charges for your basic oil changes and up coming 30k?

Hey people

I love this place, most of you are really good with advice and overall content about the 300/330. Good job guys. As a pleased 02 300 owner, I just wanted your inputs on average you all pay for your basic services. Just last month I did my 15 k service and was informed that the 30k will be pricey. I was curious to know if any of you have done your own fluid changes and anything else or since we paid the price to own a luxury SUV do you just put the money down for oil changes every 5 k or what.

Then is al that is included in the 30k service truely required or what? And haven't you heard the commercials about BMW offers free service on just about everything with their new cars. And why shouldn't Lexus be more customer friendly when it comes to oil changes and more. If they really wanna compete with the other luxury companies. Even though the dealer I go to always treats me with a great deal of respect.

My dealer, New Country Lexus offered a service plan. All maintenance included up to 40K miles for $1300, including the 15K and 30K service. At the end of the lease, if I turn the car in to them, they will rebate half, about $650. I signed up, so I hope it works out financially.

Sounds like a good deal - any idea what they do for buyers as opposed to those who lease? I want to check if my dealer offers something similar.

Lexus dealership here charges $700 for 30K Miles service. SUV add $250 for wheel bearing repack.
30K miles includes replaceing engine oil/filter, air filter, cabin filter, A/T fluid, differential oil, brake fluid, engine coolant, fule filter, check wheel alignment, balance wheels/tires and rotate tires, inspect brake system, drive shaft boots, body and chassis nuts and bolts, exhaust system, rack and piston assembly, fuel system and wash vehicle. You can some of the work yourself and by another shop but make sure you use the Toyota fluid such as the A/T fluid, coolant...

Auto manufacturers are out to make a profit, there is no 'free' service.

Wow, based on the 30K service alone, sounds like the maintenance pkge I got is a good deal. It's called Maintenance Care Service agreement and covers oil and filter change every 5K plus all recommended factory service thru the term of my lease. Sold by company called Protection Plus thru my Lexus dealer. Enrollment form mentions leased vehicle to be eligible for the 50% rebate.
