Greetings All. I am new to the forum and love my old 2000 RX300. I pulled the light bulb cover off of the map light (near the rear view mirror) and there were no light bulbs. I am having trouble figuring out what bulbs are needed and where to get them. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I personally go to the dealer it is on my route to work and I am assured right wattage. Chat with the parts and enjoy coffee and snacks.

I will do so even though it is out of the way. I bought what I thought were the right ones but they did not fit at all. Dealer here I come. Thanks for your help.

Thank you for the info. I was to get the bulbs but when I went to put one in the gold (brass) supports broke right off I guess due to age. Does anyone know if this is replaceable? I got this close only to be set back further.

DIY it. Cheaper and easier.

1) Buy a cheap piece of copper from home depot
2) Drill a screw hole in the middle
3) Bend to shape
4) Swap with broken piece in map light
5) Tada!

I did a quick search on eBay. A overhead courtesy lamp, tan, with sunroof switch and sunglass case (a complete unit) ..prices start at $23 with free shipping and saw 2 more for $39. Not too bad I think. Of course these are used.
Just type in: "rx 300 overhead courtesy lamp" or "rx 300 overhead console lamp" in the search on eBay.
Hope you get it fixed.
