well, I switched my lights from L to D and replaced the entirely missing ABS and CEL lights, just to discover that I have 3 codes. Two for P1135 and one for P0125. Any fixes? I heard and read that the BOSCH sensors and DENSO will still generate a CEL???..

Entirely missing ABS and CEL lights?? Something sounds strange here. Is this a recently purchased used car that the previous owner may have pulled the bulbs to hide a CEL and ABS problem?

That's what it looks like. I just purchased 1 week ago and it spent the first 4 days at lexus for knock sensors and timing belt. It pisses me off to know that Lexus of Tampa Bay couldn't tell me about those codes. I mean they hooked it up to the machine and those codes should have come up, right? even though the CEL was not there. I'm not going to call them again and have them tell me to come over again and charge me even more for a separate visit for non-related issues since they did fix the knock sensors and replaced the timing belt. Now I have to fix this on my own or pay them the ridiculous Lexus charges for what could be a thermostat worth $15 or a $150 air/fuel sensor that I can fix on my own....

BTW, Advanced Auto will loan you the code puller (OBDII scanner) for free, the scanner will tell you what the codes are.
interesting about the bulbs missing, I guess you pull the codes if your buying a used car.

Simple to remove/replace. Take out the instrument cluster carefully and reach out for the burnt bulb. You may opt to use the bulb in L since wee hardly use it. This I did in my own case.

Be careful when you take out the black plastic bezel from the bottom because there is a clip on the right bottom side. The clip is easy to break by a straight pull-out from the cluster you will move in next step.

I just got my light bulb - came in a 12"x4"x6" box. wtf?
Anyway, how the hell do I get those two screws out in step 1? They are impossibly screwed in there. They do not move at all with all of my strength. The fact that the screws are upside down makes it even harder. Can I circumvent this step? I'm afraid that if I keep trying, I'm going to end up tearing away the screw and eventually completely unable to take them out.
Help.
I have a 99RX btw... Also, I can see my screwdriver literally twisting as I'm trying to unscrew this thing. It's seriously stuck in there. Are RX's screws fused in there???

Just wanted to thank the contributors regarding "D" indicator light. Recently purchased 2003 RX300 AWD from my local BMW dealer. I notice that the
bulb was burned out. Purchased 2 bulbs (I figured I would lose one) from local Lexus dealer. Followed the detailed instructions listed. The only difference
was that there are 3 screws holding in the display and not 2. I'm not mechancially inclined, so it took me 25 minutes. The problem has been resolved
at a cost of $7.95 + tax. For reference, I followed one of the suggestions, and
left 3 plugs in place. Bulb was accessable by tilting display. I thought the bulbs would be vertical, but they zig-zag back and fort. Counted 3 bulbs from
buttom to green "D" bulb. Re-assembly was very quick (5 minutes). Once again
