Just picked up my 2000 RX300! With help from this forum, I checked out a few of them and had an idea of what to look out for and questions to ask the owner. I finally felt comfortable with this one and it drives extremely smooth and quiet. When I checked out the ad I thought it was silver but after seeing it in person it looked like a darker grey. Now, after registering at lexus.com I found out that the color of mine is Mineral Green Opalescent along with service records at the dealer, which is interesting. Mine has about 150k miles and you would never know it. Timing belt should be good for another 50k with receipts from the previous owner. I'm getting an oil change and transmission service done ASAP for peace of mind.. The only problem that will need to be addressed is the passenger side window basically works when it wants to. It didn't go down the first time I looked at it from either the passenger switch or drivers side with a clicking noise. Now it's working fine, but I'm going to have that looked at soon. Motor possibly? I'm looking forward to 100k+ trouble free miles (fingers crossed)!

Welcome to the first generation club and i am sure with proper maintenance etc you will get a number more years of problem free driving. I just picked up a 99 300 myself a couple weeks ago.

Welcome and congrats! We bought a 2003 RX300 a few months back for my teenage son with 96k miles and LOVE it. Might look for another one for my college son at some point. Plus, my wife drives a 2012 RX350...we are long on RX's.

Welcome aboard!
I too own a 2000 Opalescent Green RX. Coming up on two years of ownership and I do love the thing. They do require some maintenance as they age, but there's loads of help here, and if you're able to do your own maintenance, you can learn a bunch about it just by working on it...
I loved it so much that I bought myself a 2001 LS430 back in December

Thanks for the welcome guys! Today I tried out some headlight restoration and I'm really impressed with the results, they basically look brand new. I used Scratch Out (yellow bottle) which was only like $5 bucks.

Wow! they look great after that treatment!; Mine look like your after picture. But since i got mine from a local dealer; i think they may have done that headlight treatment to it before i got it as my headlights look like they are brand new like yours do as well. Hopefully they will stay that way for some time to come.

Thanks!; granted yea as they do age; ya do have to do big maintenance items; but its just all part of owning a older vehicle. One thing that really surprised me is when i got my new registration and license tab the other day in the mail i could not believe how cheap the registration and license fees were!; it was just under $30.00 to register it for a full year and about 6 days approx. I was laughing at how cheap it was but of course thats because mine is 16 years old.
