Just changed out some Denso plugs that had 180k on them Yesterday in about an hour and a half. Didnt look too terrible, but the engine stumbled a little at idle sometimes. I also cleaned the MAS while I was in there. Purrs at idle now. Now to just get those knock sensors swapped out.

Welcome to Club Lexus!

You did the front and back in an hour and a half? Wow!

Thanks. The rear plugs weren't too bad, the hardest part was getting the darn connectors off the coils.

I joined because I've been doing a lot of work on RX 300's. Did a 120K on a silversport a few months ago and now my girlfriend has a RX 300 with some minor problems (Leaky PS line and knock sensors). Going to probably pull the front VC and check how bad the sludge is in there while ive got everything torn apart. Sorry for highjacking the thread!

Just saying you probably "think" you saw instructions for anti-seize usage.
They are no where to be found on my new boxes of iridiums.

READ #1 on the attached NGK pdf link

NGK wouldn't spend the extra time, money and process to chromium plate the plugs..then tell customers to use anti-seize when it alters factory recommended torque specs.

I haven't change the spark plugs yet on my RX, still on the original factory ones. My RX has 223K miles on it. I'll replace when it fails.

Ive been wondering when the plugs were changed on my 99 300 that i picked up a bit over a month ago(Jan 22). But Since the car runs excellent right now im not gonna attempt to change them out because mine just purs like a kitten lol so i bet whoever had it before me had the plugs and almost any other major service done as this one is really in primo shape overall for a 16 year old vehicle. Other than the fuel mileage i cant complain at all(wish it did get better mileage but back then they didnt have the engineering to get the mileage out of them like they do now)

how did you get away with doing it in an hour and half? I mean what did you do to get to the rear ones which are the hardest to get to? Did you have to take off the wiper(s) and cowl and take the manifold off to get to them or how did you go about doing those ones?(just asking for when I have to get in there to do them next which probably wont be for quite some time yet) Thanks.
