Default RH Rear Speed Signal (Sensor)

Is there a DIY for replacing the rear speed signal or sensor?

Has anyone else done this and could give me basic information?

Thanks

CEL - VSC lights on and codes read:

C0210 - Right rear speed signal

C1223 - ABS Malfunction

I believe you follow wire to back side of hub, and their should be a 8 or 10mm bolt attaching it. you pull it straight out and replace.

The electrical connector for the rear is behind the trunk panel though.

Thanks.

That's the part I'm not sure of. Where does the other end of the sensor plug into?
Any pics of where behind the trunk panel?
Is it located anywhere near the power antenna motor?

First I must say that I have not accessed the connector. You can guess that it will be within few inches of the place where wires enter the body.

Since the panel is a large piece, just take it out.

I am not sure if there is a DIY which shows how to take the panel out.

I haven't done the right hand side, only the left rear. The old sensor was rusted in and didn't want to come out. After I got the sensor out (in pieces) I ended up removing the axle to clean up the rusted area. I didn't want to nick the reculator ring with a file.

Any insight about the connector, which is behind a panel in the trunk area?

For the driver's side, I had to remove the driver's side rear seat to get at the connector. Once the seat and panel (scuff plate?) was removed, you will see the connector.

Hello Rickl289: I have replaced RR ABS speed sensor in the wheel well and I am looking for a way to access the inside connector behind the RR back seat. The plastic panel wall has 2 pieces: one on top reaching the height of the door top edge and the other piece is at the seat level. I trust that the inside connector is behind the back seat in the photo from where the RED arrow points to.

If you can, please describe in detail how to remove the lower plastic panel. Mine is a 2000 RX300 model and plastic parts are getting fragile. The top edge of the lower plastic panel appears to tucked under the lower edge of the top plastic panel. Are the 2 pieces inter locked at the edges? (In the photo I yet to remove the back seat, but will get it removed shortly.)
