Is this standard behavior? My son says it only happens when very cold. Odd?

Edit: This is a 2003 RX300.

Quite interested in the responses from the experts. My mother in law who now drives our RX mentioned something similar last week. She said she parked the car in the mall and after she came back later all four windows were lowered a few inches. We don't have keyless remote and I blamed her for holding the key too long while opening the door since she has to use the key. She was very concerned thinking someone had broken into the car. This had never happened while we owned the car over the last 7 years, neither cold nor hot weather.

Must not be a "feature" I guess.
