No, our transmissions can't handle that.

One person did manage to stick a supercharger onto the RX, there are some pictures floating around here of the engine bay.

I wonder what mods this guy did:

The tranny can't take anything that even resembles hi performance. But why bother? The average rental car will out run an RX with mods.

Wow, buddy...put you brakes on for a second, I've taken out many v8's at the light just to name a few( 2007 ish f-150, 2010 ish chevy tahoe, even a 96 ish model impala. It's not like I smoked a mustang or camaro maybe the v6 versions but it's not a slow car for 240hp and 220lbs of torque... although I have to admit when loaded with 5 people all about 190 - 220lbs and 1-200 lbs of luggage the Rx gets sluggish getting on the highway lol, if only they had a supercharger kit, and a aftermarket tranny good for 450hp lol 0-60 in 4 seconds and quarter mile in the 11 to 12 range. I wish the Rx had 2 extra gears though, it would get a lot better mpg's

Not to mention I smoked my friends 2012 Chevy traverse rated at 280hp, a tad bit heavier but I had him by at least 3 - 4 car length's, had to slow down though cause the road was ending...would have been interesting to see them max out on somewhat like a runway cause the traverse has 2 extra gears.

http://www.lexus.com/contact/pdf/2002/2002RXspecs.pdf

2002 RX300
0-60 8.8
1/4 Mile 16.6
Top Speed locked at 112mph

2010 Ford Taurus
0-60 6.9
1/4 Mile 15.2

2011 Hyundai Sonata
0-60 6.1
1/4 Mile 14.5

2008 Chevy Malibu
0-60 6.4
1/4 Mile 14.9

Transverse and Impala's are pigs. Got to run down a used up Taurus or Hyundai before you start puffing your chest.

The RX is close to 9 sec for sure. Here's a clip of my RX doing 0-60 when it had 210k miles on it, I didn't go WOT till about 2-3 seconds in.

Just a quick question has it gotten new plugs, fuel filter, throttle body cleaning and new air intake filter. Also dose it run on 93 octane? Just asking my 02 Rx with 170k dose it in about 7 1/2 seconds to 60, I really want a supercharger though (; lol.

Yes, to all of those except fuel filter.

And none of that matters. Lexus rates it at 8.8sec among many other sites, you honestly think they would write down a slower time than possible... They want to sell as many as they can, if anything they will fudge the numbers to make the car look faster, not slower.

These types of comparisons are pointless. There is way too much human error in measurements to make any meaningful comparisons.
