Transmission Problem (Not Shifting)
Hi Guys,
I'm new at the forum so pardon me if I first had to read and browse deep into the existing threads
Anyways my problem is following my RX3000 (2000 Yr. model) has a transmission problem after the ignition it goes normally from 1st gear to the last but on the second turn it gets stuck on the 3rd I mean I can go quite up with the rpm (to 5) and it doesn't shift up so please would anyone here know what this might be???? and one more detail if i stop and start the car from allover again it starts to behave normally but again it lasts only first stage. Please would you help me out with this. Thanx in advance

1.) I know this sounds crazy, but did you have your alternator belt replaced recently? I had mine done and the tension wasn't set correctly so I had a similar issue with my transmission not changing. Once they reset the tension on the belt, everything worked fine.
2.) If you haven't gotten a transmission flush done recently, run over to pep boys and do a transmission flush ($190, or so). You might also want to replace the transmission filter (beck arnley makes a good one for about $25-35 on amazon.com).
3.) If your Check Engine light is on, you might have a bad solenoid in your transmission.
I hope your transmission isn't on it's way out. Good luck! Keep us posted on what happens!

Thank you guys for your posts! I took car to the service they've run diagnostics so fortunately Gear Box it's mechanical part is OK but unfortunately some of the sensors had to be replaced such as 2 Pcs of Knock Sensors and an Oxygen Sensor... Concerning "Ignition" i meant whe you start the car and start driving first round of gear changes where going well the problem appeared on the second round(1st round 1.2.3,4 OK but on the second round 1.2.3 and it wasn't getting to the 4th... now if you stopped the car and engine and start the engine again it was going again by the same manner I've described). I hope no one will face this kind of problem but at the same time this post helps someone so again thanks to everyone
