Default Replacing Engine 1999 RX300 AWD - Input needed

I am replacing an engine in a 1999 RX300 AWD. I am purchasing a re-manufactured long block with timing chain. I plan on a new water pump, plugs and filters. I will also do all external belts. I don't know which ones it has, but I figure I should replace them all.

I am having a local Transmission Shop that I trust do the work. should anything be done to the tranny while it's apart?

What other parts should I consider replacing while it is apart?

Anything else I should do during the swap?

Any recommendations for purchasing parts online?

Any other advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Welcome to Club Lexus!

I assume you mean new timing belt, not chain.

Be sure to change the rear main seal.

Re; tranny : is it original? how many miles ?

Be sure this long block came out of an AWD RX;FWD don't fit, I am told.

How much you pay for the engine?

What happened to the original?

How much is the long block? I swapped an 03 for 03 JDM AWD 1mz out of a highlander for 2000 + 1500 in misc. crap. Had 50000 certified miles. P.I.A.

How many miles on yours? I'd seriously consider junking it.

Search my user name. It will hopefully shed light on your upcoming task. If you don't have a SERIOUS amount of air tools don't even attempt it.

This person has it right: I do this for a living and it is a serious pain to get that engine out and everything swapped over.

Make sure you/they install(ed) the updated valve covers with the new PCV valve. Per Lexus it is the root cause of all oil burning/sludge on the 3.0L.
