Default Transmission / Cooler Question

I would like to be able to pull a 1200 lb trailer with my 2000 RX300 AWD. In addition to the stock trans cooler which is installed--like the unit below--did Lexus do anything additional to enhance the transmission cooling when they installed a tow package?

Unfortunately no, that's why the rx300 has cut outs on the bottom of the bumper to enhance air flow, if you would like you can install a small 7 or 8" auxiliary cooling fan witch has about 650-750 cfm's. That should be plenty of air flow to be ok all you have to do is wire it up to a relay and then to a on/off switch so you can have it on or off as you please

The crappy thing about even about that location is that the windshield wiper fluid reservoir blocks a good part of that cooler from getting air through that hole on the bumper and that's the reason many years ago I ditched the windshield reservoir altogether, but the fan would be the only other way or if the cooler could be relocated in front of the reservoir.

I posted photos of the area in this thread, https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...n-failure.html

Did you replace the reservoir with a smaller one or you just have no reservoir?
