I used it to repair an exhaust manifold crack on my MR2 about a year ago and it seems to be working fine. I took a couple of additional steps. First, I stop-drilled the crack on both ends and second I ground a slight V-groove in the crack to increase surface contact with the QuickSteel Extreme. I also cured the repair under a heat lamp for about 24hrs before reinstalling the manifold on the car per the package instructions.

Hello Salim,

Unfortunately, I don't have a very large budget to go to a professional welder to have it done, much less any know-how or equipment to do so. I think I may have a crack but may not be entirely sure....I am monitoring it but I'm just preparing myself and keeping my options open just in case I do have a crack. The reason think I may have a crack is that I just did an oil change on my own on my RX300 and spilled a little oil when changing the filter. After the oil change was done, I started the car and saw a very, very little amount of smoke coming from below the exhaust manifold. I am hoping it is the spilled oil and not a crack. But if it is a crack, I just want to be prepared with affordable options.

I'd appreciate any further input you may have

Hello Baetke,

Thank you for your response.

Please let me know if you had any adverse side-effects after the repair (i.e. - any weird sounds, strange or foul odors, unusual amount of smoke from the exhaust, etc.)

Thanks.

It's been just a year now since I made the repair and I have had no problems at all.
