Have to say goodbye...
Well I'm sad to say that I have to say good-bye to my 2000 RX300 AWD. After 382,000 miles the transmission finally quit. (yes, the original tranny) I'm sad to see it go, but it's time. It's not like the trany owed me anything....

That's a whole lotta miles. I would assume that was 75-80% highway driving. I had a 2002 Bonneville that was at 292,000 when I got rear ended last year. It spent most of it's life as a saleman's car driving on the freeway before I bought it.

A deal on a very clean, well maintained '98 Acura 3.5RL fell into my lap, so that's what I'll be driving.

Believe me, I tried to figure a way to keep it. I work for Napa Auto Parts, so I have a lot of contacts. I even found someone to rebuild my trans for $1200, but it was to the point of needing a bunch of work besides the trany, and I was tired of it nickle and diming me to death.

There comes a time to put a horse in a pasture or a glue factory .
Hotrodgirl, if you dont mind sharing the repair history it would be educational for the rest. You dont have to go back too long back in history.

Take it to a Lexus dealership and see if they give you a new one when they see the mileage. At one tome Volvo would give a new car if you could get 1,000,000 miles on your car.
