Default Are These Headlights Too Far Gone

Hi Folks,

These are the high dollar HID units on a 2001 RX300. I can hear ballast whine and low beams are a little cool at first start but white after warmup and high beams are a warmer period..

So, are these beyond polishing?

Thanks

Only one way to find out... Try it!

IMO, I don't think they are too far gone. Try the 3M headlight restoration kit, I've found it to last the longest.

This is what I do:

Stay away from sanding.
Use a product like Plastix to clear out the haze.
Wax the lens.
Dull haze comes back in 6 months (argh!)

Agreed. I use polishing compound with my high speed buffer on a low speed setting. Yes, it takes some talent to use a buffer, but the results are outstanding. Just remember not to stay in one place too long. And keep it wet.

Thanks Guys,

I got the 3M with kit before your replies came in.

I could have done better but this is my first learning curve run at it.

Its my 16 year old's first car and getting those to light better was a priority.

I'll take more time next run.

Within few weeks you could tell the actual output.
