Default Timing Belt Kits

I've read some posts here and there about owners needing to replace their timing belts, costs, etc. I have seen some kits online that include OEM Toyota parts for the:

Belts - (Timing, AC, Power Steering)
Idlers
Tensioner
Cam and Crankshaft Seals
Thermostat and Gasket

The only item that is not OEM Toyota is the water pump and gasket which is made by Aisin. As I understand it Aisin in the manufacturer for this part for Toyota.

What is the consensus on using a kit such as this vs buying each part from Toyota? Should I feel comfortable with an Aisin water pump or should I pay extra to get the "Toyota" label on the part?

P.S. I know this is quite the project...but simply I cannot under any circumstances afford the cost to have a mechanic replace this. If in doubt I will just say two words......Hawaii Prices.

do you have pictures of the OEM part vs the Aisin branded pump? As long as they are physically the same. I would have no problem. Otherwise, use the one that uses a cast wheel vs stamped.

Intention to save money is great, but I have to ask these questions:

Tools ... Do you have them?
Ability ... Can you handle the job?

You are the best judge.

The videos you see make the hard things look easy.

Those kits are perfect, buy from a reputable ebay seller and you will have no problems. I used a kit from metero1969, for my RX300. All of the parts were OEM and great quality just as I had expected.

The Aisin water pump is the same thing that you would get at the Toyota dealer.

I have used two of those kits, one for Lexus RX400h and one for Sequoia. THe Aisin pump is an exact replica of the OE part...same manufacturer......

Thanks everyone for the replies. Salim, thanks also for the practical advice. I don't know if everyone feels this way but I am such a visual leaner that youtube as become a huge savior for me when it comes to repairing so many things. Was able to rebuilt a Ford transmission simply from videos a couple of years ago. Thanks again for the confidence in the parts and I'm looking forward to the task. I'll be sure to give a heads up once the work is done.
