You'll probably want to make sure to use the MAF sensor for the 3MZ because of the higher displacement.
I'm curious to see how the mileage compares with the 3MZ. I get about 21 mpg in my RX but my wife gets 27mpg with the 3MZ in her ES330. Would love to know how it performs in the RX.

i been going to school and changing things up on the sc300 for upcoming toyota fest. so i havnt really doen anything on this project. and the weather has been crappy..
that .3l wont matter and since im using the 1mz intake and all wiring and everything then the 1mz maf will be fine. on boosted cars the oem maf can still measure quite a bit higher flow than this .3 difference is gonna make.
im not too worried a different tranny could share the same bellhousing pattern.. the 1mz and 3mz bolting pattern for the tranny was different then the engine code would be different too. it wouldnt be a MZ.. im not too worried at this point. all the parts i have bought so far have been identical on the 1m and 2m engines, and as far as mounts go that im not worried about either it looks the same.. and the 3mz i got is from a sienna.. i fabricate so a mount isnt gonna stop me. lol

Any updates???
It's been awhile since you started this project, I would like to know the outcome of this since I have both the vehicle and the upgrade engine which I was going to sell, until I saw this thread. Thinking about swapping those two now. :-)

Mounts! Take some pics of the mounts! I just did a 1MZ swap last month into my 2003.
Also, pictures of the Block to Transmission bolt holes. Need to see those too. I hope they are in the same spots as the U140.
Gonna need an ECM too.

sorry guys i dont have a lift at my house.. im waiting till my friends shop has a free lift so i can go there and get this done.. i just need the lift for a few hours . if you are in the bay area and you got a lift ill do it right now! lol the motor and trans all needs to come out the bottom thats why i need a lift and why this is taking a bit longer than normal. also many people are saying the rear motor mount might be different on the block and not be able to work but that leaves the one front mount, and two sides also a mount on the transfer-case. so that rear engine mount makes it 5 total mounts. i will make a rear engine mount if i have to.. but the Mitsubishi evo just has 3 mounts and the last mount is on the transfer-case just as if i didnt have the rear engine mount .. its still 4 mounts.. if its good enough for a evo its gonna be ok to have 4 mounts on the rx300-30 im calling this hybrid 300 and 330 the rx300-30 bare with me guys. im not a quitter.. lol
