Aureliaz3,

The crank and cam sensor are used to provide cylinder position, which affects fuel injection and spark timing. So, yes, if one of these were bad, the spark timing would be off which can lead to a no start.
Unplug the sensors and check for resistance at the two pins.

Cam Sensor: 835-1400ohms at cold (14F -122F) ; 1060-1645ohms at hot (122F-212F)

Crank Sensor: 1630-2740ohms cold; 2065-3225ohms hot;

Have you been able to pull codes. Same issue for me. It was my ignition control module. There were a few other things that caused a domino effect but the main component was this module. If its bad, you are not going to start, you will smell a lot of gas but never get it to actually start. Best of luck.

Is the ignition control module part of the ECU or something? I can't find much about an ignition control module when I search... Is it named something else?

Hi, I do not think it is a part of the ECU. I know that it is connected being that it is all a part of the computer. This piece is right next to the air intake hose. It is flat and about 2 inches by 2 inches. (mind you this is for my year and model) but I believe they are all similar. I looked up this part on "partsgeek.com" you can also trying "ignition control unit". I did get mine from the junk yard because the price was too steep for me. If you would like I can take a picture and attach it. If you do determine it is this piece, also be sure to check your ignition fuse, it may be blown.
