Death of my RX300
After being hit on side from a car accident, my insurance advised me that they have to write off the car due to the repair cost above 65% of the car value. My RX is worth more to me than they think but what can I do. Last weekend I removed the license plate and said good bye to my trusted RX.
Thank you all for those advises I have received over the years from fellow members. The dos and don'ts that kept my RX running and looking good.

Instead of accepting a check, you can insist upon finding you a 'replacement' equivalent RX. Just be aware they may find you one for less than the face value of the check.

Thank you.
I am okay, I was the only person inside. It would have been worst if I was in my MR2.
I had considered getting another RX300 or a later model but could not find one that is better than what I had. I like the body style of the 300s .Then I would still have to go though all over again to upgrade her. I am still looking for a replacement, maybe go Toyota. I might miss the luxury of the RX.

Sorry to hear about your loss.
I lost my first RX in a crash ,I bought it with some front end damage ,repaired everything and it was a beaute.. i was going about 60 mph when an out of control Jeep Cherokee slammed me from behind and pushed me into the car in front of me. She said her gas pedal got stuck and couldn't stop She did stop after hitting 4 other cars and a pole. I got an extra 6gs out of the insurance from storage fees due to their lack of willing to give me the correct price for the car .
