When you say key does not work , what do you mean
a) Front door lock-unlock does not work when you insert the key and turn
b) The remote lock button on the key fails to lock ? door (one particular or all)
c) The remote unlock button on the key fails to unlock ? door (one particular door or all)

Other questions.
Which door lock did you change?
Does the driver and front passenger electronic lock/unlock operate all locks.
Does the panic button on the key sounds the alram?

I replaced the actuator in the drivers side door. I then went to a lock specialist to have the keys re-battery. When he tried to re program, he couldn't get the key to open any of the doors or the automatic distance window opening. In short I am right where I was before replacing the actuator

PS. The key will physically unlock the door ok, but neither button on the key will lock or unlock any of the doors. I hope I am explaining this ok. It's my first time on the forum. Thanks for your assistance

I have moved the posts to a new thread.

How about the electronic lock/unlock button by the driver side and the front passenger side?
Do they operate all or some door locks?

When you say you are right back where you started ... did the remote-key ever work before? The actuator DIY would only work if it is done right AND if only if a certain lock fails.

The button on the driver door will work on driver door and the two rear doors and the 5th door. Sometimes it will work on the front passenger door but will not most of the time. Most of the time I have to lock the front passenger door with a key if on the outside and manually if on the inside.
This has been going on for about one year. (Thanks)

This information narrows downs the problem to the driver door lock which includes:
Driver door lock actuator.
Connectors and wires in the driver door.

Since you replaced the motor. maybe something is binding the travel or wire is pinched.
Did the motor looked fresh ... recently I came across a post that some one was selling sub-standard air bags on the ebay (multimillion $).

Important: Drive without the door panel for a few days to confirm things are OK before you button it up.
