Default Shifter Light

I've searched and read all the posts on how to replace the light bulb that illuminates the shift position on the center console (the "other" D light) but they only explain how to replace the bulb. My bulb tests good so I need to check the wiring. According to the schematic the wires for this light go to Junction Block 3 pins I and D.

Does anyone know where Junction Block 3 is located?

Thanks,
Baetke

same problem here; I followed some great instructions HERE and HERE, but the new bulb didn't light either. Have you deduced that "Junction Block 3" is part of this issue?

From my understanding of the schematic, the wires from the bulb go to junction block 3. I was hoping to disconnect them there to test the wiring. I did find that I had a blown 7.5A Panel fuse in the fuse block behind the coin tray by the drivers left knee. When I replaced it, the new one blew immediately so there must be a short somewhere in that wiring harness. I don't have any good info on where the wiring harness resides so I'm stuck at this point.

I too had a blown fuse there.

(bottom right)

Mine did NOT blow again upon replacement, but the new bulb still won't light. The old bulb actually test good as well, so I assumed that maybe that bulb had somehow blew the fuse, but now I'm stumped.

You probably have an open circuit in the wire between the junction block and the light. The one I was working on was shorted to ground. That is why I was looking for more info on the location of the junction block as well as the wire routing. I wasn't able to get enough of the center console apart to physically trace the wires. Maybe you'll have better luck.
