Went to have my car inspection for sticker..they told me all 3 brake lights were out..I had no idea, nothing was showing on my dash. Took the car to two garages, they had the car all day and both said they had no idea finally took it to a Lexus dealer they told me it was a problem in the dash with a circuit board Cost 1,650. I wonder has anyone has this problem and why so expensive to fix if its a circuit board.

Circuit diagram is there and some one with a VOM and knowledge about electronics can have a go at it.

We can guide you over the net provided you post voltages at different point with brake pedal pressed or released.

Lexus cost will be based on new parts and labor. They and many other places do not repair circuit boards.

I had that happen many years ago - the wife actually got pulled over by a police officer (no tail lights - or brake lights).

Wire(s) came loose at the wire harness near fuse box.

Thanks guys...I did come here first spent 3 days looking for answer it was not here...had the car to 3 diff garages...they could not find the problem..but they did all the standard suggestions here...the brake pedal..the box in the back the bulbs all that stuff....its a circuit board in the end and it took lexus a whole day to figure it out....thanks
