Default vibration and humming noise

HELLO ,NEW HERE ,
Was wondering if anyone has the same issue and a fix for my 2001 rx300 , 96k, timing belt done. The symptoms are when warmed up and at normal temp i get a vibration and a deep humming sound like a subwoofer is on when i stop at a light or stationary when in D or R. I changed the front motor mount and cleaned out the throttle body and idel control valve. Drives me nuts

You may have an issue with your torque converter. Especially if the vibration an noise disappear in neutral and park.

Check your exhaust line connection gaskets leaks by lift up the car with engine running.

As a long shot you may also want to check for a damaged harmonic balancer. This can cause vibration and noise. More common on vehicles used off road. noise usually constant though, probably no change while in neutral ,drive or reverse.

I have the same symptoms on my 99 RX with 150K miles. Tried the same things you listed with no luck. I'm still leaning toward an exhaust leak but haven't had any luck trying to listen for it under the car due to the engine noise. Someone suggested spraying joint with soap solution and looking for bubbles but I'm not sure how that will work on a hot exhaust.

Let me know if you have any luck.

Reading this thread experiencing same issue. Cleaned TB, New Air Filter and IACV, cleaned MAF... Now, vibration when idling in D at a red light that disappears when in Park and N. Mechanic will check motor mounts, but is there a way I can check the torque converter?

You dont do that with hot exhaust. [unless the problem is heat related ... leaks when hot]. It takes a minute to heat up. You can feel and smell hot gases too .. just dont stick your hand on the suspect area but bring it closer from far. You can gently try to choke the exhaust outlet momentarily with a rag to make the conditions worse ... dont over do it.

Exhaust shops can do the test for free too.

Seems like you are getting desperate.

Take a step back and weigh your options.

It gets to a point where you take your vehicle to a competent mechanic and or dealership. There comes a time when 1 expensive and competent repair is better than 10 desperate low cost attempts.
