Default New headlights or aftermarket

I am looking into new head lights for my 1999 Lexus RX300. I do not want new bulbs, I want to replace the entire head light both on front left and right side...has anyone in here done this?
I find after market headlamps for $50-$75. New lamps at Lexus go for a few hundred each.

Has anyone replaced theirs with after market lamps and how are they working? Do they fit correctly?

Thanks

Have you checked CL lighting sponsors?

Are you looking to replace due to fogging of the lenses?

I upgraded my 99 to 01-03 style headlights and let me tell you, it took a few years off the look. They really make it look good. I found mine on Craigslist for REAL cheap.

I have cleaned the lenses do to the "fogging" 3x, each time it last shorter and shorter. I have just had enough of the dim lights at night (excpept for high beams).

I am still looking into replacing entire units.

99 RX,
I am assuming your lights fit the car even though it was different years. I will look into that and see what I can come up with.

What is the HID? I see in alot of listings NO HID.

HID stands for high intensity discharge. These are the very white, very bright headlights you see on many luxury cars.

I recently cleaned the lenses on my RX and my mother's ES. The two fluids I got at Walmart, for about $6 each. One is the bluish abrasive fluid that cleans them and the other is a clear liquid that (I think) coats and protects. Perhaps you aren't using the clear protective fluid?

+1, are you putting on a sealant?

You can see how my headlights looked after the treatment here:
They still look like that right now.

They fit perfectly, the light housing are the same for 99-03. Get the non HID because our cars didn't come equipped with them originally.
The HID is not a super bright white light, but yet a 4300k bluish bulb that gives off great light. But for now, stick with OEM halogen and upgrade from there once you get the new housings.
