Default Door won't unlock manually or with piggybacked actuator?

2001 RX 300 - Here is the deal:

Driver door doesn't lock or unlock via remote (all the other doors do) No actuator movement

Driver door doesn't lock or unlock via Power switch (all the others doors do) Yes actuator movement. In other words the red manual button moves but the door doesn't lock or unlock.

Driver door cannot be locked or unlocked manually with the red button.

Manual key insertion is the only way to open drivers door.

I've had a piggybacked actuator working perfectly for 3 years on the drivers door.

Sounds like a linkage issue. Probably have to open it up and see what's going on.

Default You da man Carguy

You hit it on the head carguy07

I included some pictures of the broken cable end. The cable gets a little more stress due to the piggybacked actuator rod not allowing cable end to swivel as easy as without actuator rod.
That's my theory and i'm sticking to it.

Cable broke right at the swivel end

A look from the backside

Other end of cable that was inside of the yellow plastic case that had to be removed.

Any ideas on where I can get this cable quickly, as car is out of commision without a door latch.

I would be tempted to rig it by crimping an electrical connector to the cable.

I'll call them tomorrow . If they have the part, there less then a half hour away.
Fingers crossed.
Monday:
Damm, they didn't have it. Said it will be 2 or 3 days to special order. Guess I should be glad, after some research some models don't sell just the cable. You have to buy the whole assy.
Might have to put it back together, I have a string holding the door shut.

I don't have an extra entire cable, but I do have the end you broke off if you want to try and attached the cables together in some fashion.

Lenny

Thanks for the offer, hopefully I'll have the new one in 2-3 days. I probably could braze the 2 wires together if need be or you were around the corner.
Buy any chance do you know the part # ?

Simple, you just need to separate the yellowish plastic piece from the white plastic piece 2 screws. The plastic pieces come out with the 30mm torx screws at the door jam, also 1 10mm bolt and the window frame slider will move out of the way. There's also 2 actuator bars that if you look inside the door you can see how to remove, twist and snap.
I used a good write-up for replacing the original lock motor, instead of doing the piggyback actuator, to remove the plastic pieces.
