Default Finally having the seats redone

So I have finally decided to give myself a Christmas gift... The drivers seat had finally ripped in two places on the outside bolster area, about 2 inches long on both. I figured I had waited long enough. I dropped the RX off at the upholstery shop yesterday evening. He said it will probably be done Thursday. You may remember this thread: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...ditioning.html All the before pictures are in that thread.
On my little project SC400 I was working on, I had them recover the backseats due to the sun eating them away. It turned out to be a big selling point on the car. Here are the pictures from that:

They did an excellent job on these, so I am very comfortable letting them touch the RX. They said they can match everything down to the double stitching and the gathered look. So you know I will have pictures up as soon as I get it back home! So essentially this was just a little teaser...

Looks like they do pretty good work. Can't wait to see the new seat covers in the RX.

You're lucky to live in Florida (or California) when there are lots of good auto upholstery shops at reasonable prices. Elsewhere in the country, you can pay twice as much for crap work.

Yeah, I think that's going to turn out quite nice...especially if it's anything like their previous work!

All the more reason to vacation in Florida this winter, while the repairs are being done

Sorry I haven't got pictures up yet. I have been slammed at work. By the time I get home it's pitch dark. I will take some pics tomorrow when I clean the car up. I think they turned out great. And the new covering has a little bit more padding in it, so they're comfier.

Here we go guys! Sorry it took so long, I have been slammed with finals and work. But here is the job they did. Overall, I am happy. They were able to replicate the double stitching, but not so much the gathered look, which honesty doesn't bother me. There is a little bit more padding in the new covering, which makes it comfier. Color match is just about perfect. I had them match to the back seats. The armrests are off due to the dye job I had done with the old seats. I forgot to tell them to recover the armrests too. But he said I could bring them in and he would dye them to match, free no problem. So I'm doing that next week.

Color match to the plastic...

Double Stitching...

Excuse the dirt off to the left side there...

Color match to the back seats. You can't really tell with the camera, but they are just about a perfect match to the back.

They will still tighten up a little bit. I am leaving them in the sun and will eventually put a treatment on them when I detail the car up.

Nice job. Are the sides and backs leather or vinyl? Mind if I ask what everyone is wondering......... How much?

Its Vinyl. But if you ask me, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. The SC in the first post was also done with vinyl. They did a wonderful job. If you are interested in the price, please PM me. I've shared this with people and don't necessarily want them knowing the price. But I have no problem sharing with you guys.
And Lexmex, he showed me a couch he just did, in Vinyl, and you would have no clue it wasn't leather. And he showed me all this custom work he was doing on a boat and it's all amazing. It truly is an art.
