Default PS Fluid

Now that we can no longer get Dex II/III, what are you guys using for PS fluid? Thanks.

A lot of people are using Mobil 1 ATF and are very happy with it.

I'm using Castrol Transmax IMV ATF as that's what I use for my transmission as well, and it work's perfectly.

Mobil 1 ATF for several years now, seems to work great.

Dex II/III (ATF) is readily available. I use it all the time in my Jeep. Is there anything wrong with using PS fluid formulated for Toyota vehicles?

I am talking about Dex II/III which is licensed by GM, not aftermarket ATF's which claim to be equivalent but may not be.

I just use T-IV Toyota transmission fluid. Works great.

Makes sense that it would work fine, but I have always thought that there must be a reason that they call for Dextron instead of pulling T-IV off the shelf.

That was my reaction too. I would not use T4 for PS fluid.
