Default 1999 Rx300 blower fan barely blowing on high

The blower fan on my girlfriends RX300 is barely blowing when on high. The control works because when you turn from high to low you can hear the blower slow down and there is no air flow at all. So basically the force on high is what it should be on low. I researched the issue and found lots on the blower control module being bad but this seems different. She said there was a noise coming from the blower when she turned it on that would stop after about 10 seconds. I am leaning towards a bad blower motor but could be wrong. I just wanted to get some input from others.
Also, how hard is the motor to replace? the control module looks easy to replace, but I could not find anything on the blower motor replacement.
We need to get it fixed as it is still 105 degrees every day.

Have you checked the cabin air filter?

That would be the first thing to check.
Open the glove box
You will see a little trap door that pops out on the rear of the glove box
Once you have that off, you will see another door that, behind it, houses the cabin air filter. pull it out and get a new one. Probably going to cost you ~$20.

I think that the filter is clogged in your case.

You could even leave the filter out for a few minutes and check for operation of the blower.

The blower speed control is module which sends out progressively more voltage to the blower fan.

You can test it by checking voltage at the fan or at the module.

I had to replace mine and the give away fro me was that the blower speed display bars would go up, but the fan would not change speed.

So I changed the cabin air filter and the blower is blowing great. Then my girlfriend asked if it made a noise. I wasnt sure what she meant, so she changed the mode on the vents from Face to Feet and when she went back up to face there was a loud buzz that lasted for about 10 seconds coming from the blower under the dash. Still worked ok as far as blower speed goes. So I switched from AC to defrost and it made the noise again breifly. When is switched back to AC and Face, the noise occured again but now the ac is blowing out of the defrost vents only, its not coming out of the face vents. So I am thinking it is a servo issue and the air diffuser is going out. This happened in my suburban. Anybody had this experience or how I would change a servo?
Thanks

These noises are coming from the mode servo. The servo will probably soon give out. There are instructions on here about greasing them up to temporarily hold it over.

We will probably just replace it. Is the replacement directions the same as for the GS? I saw a replacement of the mode servo in a GS on here and wondered if it is pretty much the same or is there a step by step repair for the RX300 on here? Seems to be pretty easy to do if you take your time.

It's generally the same. Do some searching on here, there are numerous threads on the issue. Just to make sure you are replacing the correct one.
