Transmission Cooler Lines Rusted
First I want to thank everyone for all of the good advice on this forum. I just bought a 2000 RX300 . Does have 171K mi but has good service records and seems to be reasonably well maintained. Did an M1 oil change and coolant change as soon as I got it home and recharged the AC today. I'm getting ready to do the transmission flush and filter change (nice DIY by LexMex) but noticed that the steel trans oil cooler lines in the front are pretty rusty. I was going to replace them to avoid future issues but cannot find them anywhere. Should I look around to see if I can get the custom or can I just go with rubber hose- it does like it would be reasonably easy to swap steel for all rubber but don't know if this might present some other issues. Thanks for the help.

rusted transmission cooler lines too
I have the exact same problem with rusted lines and ATF fluid leaking on the garage floor. It's a 1999 RX300 with 188K miles on it. How did yours work out, did a local garage install the new lines, or did you do it yourself...

Just did this job on my daughter's 2001 RX. A tip on getting the old lines out. I was worried about snapping the bolts so I cut the lines out with an angle grinder first. You can get at both brackets easily from below. Once the lines are out there's better room and angle to go straight at the bolts.
