Default ATF Protectant

Does anyone know anything about this or similar products? Normally I presume additives are a waste but there a few good reviews on Lubegard ATF Protectant. My '99 RX has 206k; the transmission failed at 90k and fortunately Lexus installed a remanufactured transmission under CPO warranty, which now of course has 116k miles on it. I want to keep my RX for several more years but probably would not pony up $5k or so for another transmission given the age and mileage. I do a drain and refill every third oil change and was wondering if adding a bottle of Lubegard might help and not hurt. For the past year, my RX started doing one thing that concerns me as it did not do it before, when I start driving in the morning and reach 35 mph for the first time, rather than shifting to the next gear, the RPM's increase from about 1750 to 3250 and stay at that level for 10-30 seconds before finally shifting to the next gear and the RPM's of course drop. It does not do it after that perhaps once warmed up. I also wonder if this product is OK for Toyota/Lexus.

Better to use a better transmission fluid first, something I didn't have the option of when I was living south of the border.

All of these products look good in the manufaturer's advertising! And you cant trust much that you read on the web (remember - it's worth what you pay for it)!

LubeGuard is well regarded at the BITOG. But, I'm not a big fan of additives.

I'd suggest trying Castrol Multi-Vehicle Import ATF.

You better drop that pan asap and see whats going on in there! change the filter if it`s a felt one, then refill with Castrol multi import vehicle fluid. Reset the ecm, and should be good to go. Or refill with the Toyota fluid (which there is nothing wrong with btw) and add a bottle of lube guard Red.
