Default Where to find part number for DSL Shift Solenoid

Been reading some post and I think it’s my DSL solenoid. Winning noise on driver’s side when cold goes away when engine warms up (Rx300 2001). Trying to fine part number. Plugged in Code reader and get nothing.

Thanks

if there is no code output, then there is no problem of DSL solenoid

"Loud" Whining noise is caused by the transmission pump, which is trying to create pressure to the planetary gears. The planetary gears begin to split. In other word, the transmission is falling.

listen this video to identify "loud" whining noise

Fix it. It's got plenty of life left in it.

Just made an appointment to get it replaced…dealer gave me a price range of $4700 to $5000. also called Lexus corporate office and they will look into this and see what they can do, they said because I am the original owner and that I have purchased two other Lexus vehicles; this will play into their decision…just how much we’ll see…I will keep you informed of what happens.

Default Related?

I dont know if this could be related to the pump but when mine is cold and started it makes like a wind rushing/white noise sound almost like a whirring sound from the transmission it gets a little louder when you put it in neutral but goes away after a few minutes. It doesn't sound like the noise in the video though.

Don't take it to Lexus!!
They will charge you way too much! Take it to an independent mechanic. The only way I would take it to Lexus is if they are offering to pay for labor. I'd wait for a response from corporate before accepting the terms of the repair.

The whirring sound is probably from the transmission pump. Which I consider normal to some extent. I can hear it on cold mornings for a few minutes till it's warmed up. I don't hear it as much, since I've started using Castrol Import Multi-Vehicle ATF, probably because it's a synthetic blend giving it better flow in cold weather.
