Default PSI tire pressure and monitoring valve caps

I don't usually mess with tire pressure b/c I have it checked with oil changes every 3-4 months and figured it was enough. But I suppose you can't be sure the mechanic does it or does it right or maybe that's not often enough. My Goodyear Integrity's started squealing around turns and handling was poor although they only have 15k on them. Took it to a gas station that had air with a tire pressure gauge. One tire was only 26 psi and the rest were between 29-31 psi. Filled them all to 32-psi and all problems subsided. My RX300's sticker says fill to 30 psi but that sounded low and I wanted to go a little higher to make sure the symptoms abated.

What tire pressure do you keep on your RX 300? Also, I saw at Walmart they have tire valve caps with psi monitors on them. They turn from green to red at 27 psi and come in different psi levels. I'm not handy and can use all the help I can get. Does anyone have any knowledge as to whether these work? This is the product http://www.walmart.com/ip/Gas-Saver-...32psi/16776207 It was $5 and change at my Walmart.

I suppose I also need to keep an eye on the one tire for a slow leak.

There is a good post on tire pressure theres no exact correct pressure. as for monitoring best bet is just go buy a tire pressure gauge and periodically check it

. i can just look at my tires and tell there low even at a small difference ie 27psi i can see diff from that to 32 psi.

I also wouldnt trust those gauges on tha gas station machines they usually arent very accurate they get ran over and beat up.

Tires naturally lose pressure over time im sure. if you were to fill a brand neq rire up leave in under your porch for a year or two psi would prob drop you know

The pressure should be checked when the tires are cold {not driven]. I would suggest once a month and every six months check the spare.

Incidentally, there is a mandate to have the air pressure monitored in newer vehicles, so pretty soon all new vehicles will have it.
