Need help..in dash or head rest monitor.
I just can't decide where to put the monitor, in-dash or head rest.
The man that I spoke too, said that they need to take the stock
radio-out. What I'm afraid off! is that they might break something
in the process. I just got my RX last april, (brand new) I'm from west L. A... Does anybody knows a good shop here that is recommendable. Another option of mine is to get a portable and
just plug-it in to cigarette lighter... Thank you in advance...

TAKING THE radio out of the dash and putting an aftermarket one is a long intensice process. very hard to do. and very rarely done. although a couple of people in this club have done it and have pics. i would recomend installing the tv ON the dash or by the glove box with a flexible gooseneck.
i started out with one tv, and it was on my dash in the right corner, now its connected to the center dome light, like a drop down monitor. (but only for rear seat viewing), but now im picking up two headrests with tvs in them this weekend. so that will be three in the back seat. then after that, im buying these used sunvisors and rear view mirror from a GS (if they fit my RX) and putting tvs in the sunvisors and if i get crazy ill even put one in the rear view mirror. so anyway im trying to put alot of tvs in my car, where to put just one tv is hard. oh check out crutchfield. they sell a plastic housing made for the rx to house a monitor. its made my clarion and goes right over the console. only thing is, u loose your pop up cup holders. but it does have the air vents built in. and its only $50

i took out the console in the roof up by the rear view mirror and put a 7" flip down. the console unscrews easy and the moitor fit perfect. i had to add a little showpiece to fill in a gap but thats all. best of all if you want to go back to factory its all bolt in, no damage to interior. i am about to take the blue screen out of the dash and swap a monitor there. it seems it will be aesy, just extend the wires on the plug to the factory blue screen and remount it. but i cant decide where to put it after i take it out? i know some peeps hate blocking the rear view mirror but if you dont care i would recommend putting the screen in the roof right there. hope this helps...

I want to know the price of in-dash motorized LCD 7" or bigger
size. A Package deal of DVD, playstation, set of head phone would be nice. Also the price of headrest monitor and DVD only.

I fitted a Clarion 7" LCD monitor into a custom designed centre console top piece and reaplced my fatory fitted console top piece with this one (colour matched a all). This way, it still looks factory fitted, which was my main concern. I hate adding accessories that look like they were forcefully added on that just destorys the car's beautiful interior.
I then had my local car hifi dealer cut into the front section of the console and that's where I located my DVD player. It's great as it's practically concealed from site hence also protecting the interior.

jim i obviouslt cant see out of the rearview, just the side mirrors but i was honestly thinking of putting one of those X10 tiny cameras in the back so i can switch inputs to the screen to see out the back on the monitor
