I had to replace the mast a few months back, as it was getting ever louder, and on rare occasion, it refused to retract 100%.

Anyway, new mast in there, thanks to the forum's help, it could not have been easier (this wasn't my first power antenna mast), but in the past couple of weeks, the motor continued to run after the antenna was fully-extended.

I paid close attention to it, and it doesn't matter if it was already extended, like listening to the radio on 'aux', then starting the engine, or if it'd been sitting a while.

So far, when it starts the grinding noise we all love, turning the radio off for about five seconds, the mast doesn't have to go all the way down, and then back on, cures it.

It's as if whatever mechanism is used to tell the motor "STOP", doesn't work 100% of the time.

Ideas?
