Now with the spark plugs ...
Drove 226 miles and now the fuel needle is on the second to last line.
Computer says 17.7 mpg. Since I came back from Baltimore (2 hour highway trip) ... computer said 20.7 mpg. Kept dipping ever since. Started the car at 18.2 mpg and now at 17.7 ...
What PSI would be best for BF Goodrich L/T tires? Theyre not the best so yeah... max PSI for that is 44. Currently got all at 38. Car feels heavy but smooth.

I have an 01 FWD with 211k on it. I drive it daily for a 30mile commute one way with mixed interstate and 2 lane highways. I routinely go over 300 miles on a tank and have gone over 350 miles several times and filled it up with under 17gallons. I've been using Premium 93 octane and have been averaging 21.5 to 22.5 mpg and occassionally get up around 23mpg. Due to higher fuel costs, my wife & I started commuting together recently and now have a little more city driving which has dropped my mpg down to about 20.5 mpg. One of the things I've noticed affect the mpg is idling for warm up. I usually just put it in gear and gently let the car warm up on the road rather than sitting with a high rpm in the driveway. I can't believe some folks are getting such bad mpg though.
I did my own analysis a few years ago regarding using 87 octane or 93oct. I get better mpg on the premium, lets say about 1 to 1.5mpg per tank. Depending on the variance in price between 87oct and 93oct, it's usually a breakeven on the cost due to the better mpg. Also, I buy 93oct at Sam's Club for about the same price as most stations sell their 89oct.
Just a thought for you NyCrAzY... Have them check your brakes, if you haven't already. Also, when you get the alignment, request the printout on the alignment, so you can see how close in tolerance the set ups are. It's show the camber, caster and toe set up with the alignment ranges. Also, you could have some bad fuel injectors that could be wasting gas. I know this has got to be driving you CRAZY, right?

Only thing I can think of now are fuel injectors and my rear brakes needs to be changed soon.
As for allignment ... I had a problem with something before .. something about the toe bolt not moving or something. But ill do my allignment again (since I get them for free with these tires) and post the printout on this thread.

I'm actually in the middle of a road trip right now. I just arrived in Chicago from NJ. I averaged about 23.8 mpg going 85 mph. Not bad at all, considering its an SUV and has high drag.
