RX330/350 wheels: Weight? Price? MPG?
Well, it's about time to go with some new rubber on the RX300.
Thinking of getting a set of 18" RX330 or RX350 takeoffs. The RX330 takeoffs are getting hard to find, but lots of 2010-2011 RX350 takeoffs, even one set of 400h takeoffs on ebay.
My question is, how much more do the 18" wheels and tires weigh compared to the RX300 stockers? I don't want to put big/heavy wheels on there that strain the tranny and decrease gas mileage.
Has anyone weighed them? Anyone notice a decrease in gas mileage with the bigger rims? Any difference in ride quality/noise/vibration/harshness?
And what have people been paying for a set of takeoffs? I'm hoping to find a set of takeoff 18" wheel and tires that only have miles on them, no curb rash, with the center pieces, with the little black nobbies still on the tires... for ~$600. I may not find that. But what do you think?
If you've got some on, pics would be nice!
Thank you for the info!

I put them on my 300 and didn't notice any difference in gas mileage but the lower profile tire rides a little bit firmer. It actually felt better to me, it certainly wasn't harsh at all.
I went with 235/55/18 tires which is the same rolling diameter as the original 16 with 235/70/16 so your speedo stays accurate.
If I had it to do over I would get 245 over the 235 width just for handling and appearance.
It's impossible to guess a price you see pretty wild fluctuations. Keep an eye on Craig's list as well.

I have Firestone Destinations on there now, and the road noise is very high, so I'm sure any tire I get will be better than them. I'm guessing it is about 8-10lbs per tire more for the 18" over our stock 16", just wondering if anyone has or can weigh them and see.

I've got 18" wheels from a 330 on my '02 300. Went with the 235/55/18 as well and the ride is definitely firmer. Not as rough as my old '03 Nissan Murano SE. That was the roughest ride I've ever had, like riding without rubber on the wheels, blew out all four struts and motor mounts around 60k. That car was the worst in more ways than one.
I'm gonna buy new tires in the fall and I'll be going with 235/60 or 245/55 to give some more cushion on the ride.
The wheels and tires are heavier but I wouldn't imagine that it would enough strain on the car to cause damage. We're talking under 50 lbs prob.

Yes, came with Goodyear RSA tires 235/55/18's about 70% tread left. They fit the vehicle nicely and make it handle and ride the way it should. Those factory Goodyear Integritys are awful tires!
