Default Rx300 with Bluetooth phonecalls

I realize many have installed the Motorala or a Parrot car kit in order to integrate a bluetooth phone calling system in the RX300.

While I am DIY myself, I did not like the idea of opening up the dash or the rear trunk trim pieces in order to hack into the wiring.

So after much searching and brainstorming, I came up with this solution.

1. Griffin Bluetrip AUX for $71.33 from Amazon.com
2. Monster iCarPlay Cassette Adapter 800 for $14.48

I put the Monster iCarPlay cassette in the cassette deck and hooked it to the AUX input of the Griffin Bluetrip AUX. I then paired the bluetooth adapter with my iphone, selected CD as the input mode and voila, I have all my music and I can answer the phone through my car's speaker.

Fyi...the Bass is not the best, but it beats loading so many CDs and I have all my favorite music collection on my iphone anyways.

If you like what I did, please respond positively and make me feel good.

Thanks!

Very nice, thanks for posting. Now, figure out a way for me to easily get a backup camera!

have you looked into the wireless ones that just sync to a screen? Not the most elegant way but it's quick and easy.

I installed a Parrot CK3100 with a www.quickconnectproducts.com wiring harness. Very simple process that did not involve cutting (or "hacking," as OP mentioned) any of the factory wiring. Simply remove the radio, unplug the factory harness, reconnect it using the quickconnectproducts.com harness, and button everything back up. It's very easy to remove the radio, and from start to finish the job took less than an hour.

Excellent ideas.

In our 2006 Toyota 4Runner I spent several hours getting behind the dash to hook up an Apple AV composite cable to the Pioneer Avic D3 system (in order to run a jailbroken Iphone playing our Directv on a Slingmedia app)...the Lexus RX300 is a lot easier to work on in this respect.
