Finaly today evening i replaced both front door stock speakers with infinity reference 6032si. Now all doors speakers (front & rear) are new infinity speakers.
Compares to old stock speakers now the sound quality much much better about 70% improved. Here some pics...........

Was it a fairly easy upgrade? Would you consider writing up a DIY? I have my front passenger that I think is going and would like new speakers to just make the whole radio sound better.

You have to replace all doors speakers front & rear to get better sound. I got those speakers from crutchfield.com and they will give you necessary adapter and speaker harnesses. I will post more diy in the weekend. If you interested let me know.

Before you install those infinity speakers you need to brace the speaker adapters(which comes with speaker box) with SAT-6 adapter which free provided by crutchfield. Make sure the speaker adapter round shape by cutting the edge (triangle outer side for screws) with plastic cutter scissor. Then sit this adapter on the top of the sat 6 adapter and make small holes (4) with drill according to brace the speaker adapter by #4-40X 1/2" flat head philips screws, #6S washer (which i bought from homedepot).

Followings are the: speaker, speaker adapter(middle) and SAT 6 adapter at the right.

Now you can sit the speaker top of the braced adapter with same screws in four side. Here is the braced speaker with adapters.

Back side of the braced speaker connected with toyota harnesse (free provided by crutchfield) for easy connection to factory speaker connection.

After remove the door panel you will see 3 screws hold the speaker. Unplug the speaker cable and remove the old speaker. Remember when you brace the speaker with braced adapter try to keep the speaker connection & SAT 6 cable hole at the top. This way it will easy to connect with factory cable.

Remove the rear door panel same like front door except the middle door panel screw is hidden behind this small plastic trim. you need to remove this plastic piece by small flat head screw driver. See pics.(red circle piece need to remove):

Follow the same way to install the rear door speakers. Infinity speaker has tweeter-level control switch in the speaker which you could adjust it before put back the panel. It took about 30 minutes to remove the each door panel and more extra time for brace the adapter. Good luck.
