Default How often does your battery need to be replaced?

I just changed my 2003 RX300 battery, exactly 3 years to the date of when it was installed. It is a 24F battery made by Interstate.

3 years seems to be on the low end of the spectrum, and I'm curious how often folks change the batter y on their RX? I'm hoping the short life isn't indicative of a deeper problem.

I live in DFW, where we have a couple of freezing days, but not consistent.

Heat is a battery killer too, you are on the low end, but nothing to worry about. IMO

I usualy get more like 4-5 years out of mine.

I experience 3-4 years regardless of the brand or price of the batteries I buy. Then I am not the type to try to squeeze the last drop of life from a battery. If it shows signs of wearing out, I replace it. It simply isn't worth it to me to get stuck on some cold rainy night in the middle of nowhere because of a weak battery.

I think I get about 4 years.

My Sienna battery just failed a few weeks shy of 2 years, which was just before the cutoff for a free replacement. After 2 years it would have been prorated.

I am pretty sure interstate has a warranty for at least 5 years.

All depends how many cold cranking amps. If your battery is too small chances are it wont last long. The Lexus should have the biggest battery you can fit everything is a power drain. If you fit a truck battery you will get 5 years if you fit a hatchback battery you will get 3 months.

I just got about 6 years from 2 recent batteries. The one on the RX300 was a Lexus battery. I replaced it with an OEM-like NAPA battery.

The other car battery was a Napa battery on a '97 Volvo 850 which was driven alot. Got 6 years from that one, too. Replaced with Napa battery.

I have gotten 6 years. The Coscto brand seems to last the longest...I believe it is made by Johnson Controls....

I got about 8+ years out of the original OEM battery in my RX, and that's living in a true 4-season climate.

It all depends on whether your battery sees constant heat and whether you've ever drained it significantly.
