My Own Stupid Fault, still got mad
So today, I had nothing to do and decided to do a full detail on my RX. I got up at 9 and finished at one, after washing, waxing, and interior cleaning. I even went so far as to take each wheel off and clean them individually! (i also installed some black JDM Harrier lugnuts I've been meaning to put in )I had been using my neighbor's driveway to do this because mine was full. By the time I was done, it was totally empty and because the driveway I was in was right in front of mine across the street (OR SO I THOUGHT) I put it in reverse and floored it thinking I would just zoom back into my driveway. Ha. It turns out that it only looked straight across from my angle and I backed into my mailbox. Even though it sounded a lot worse than it was there is still a decent dent in two places, and I'm lucky i didn't crack the taillight. Oh and the mailbox was fine, OF COURSE. I was kind of tempted to just hit it again and knock it over though but I took a few deep breaths and calmed down. The dent should pull out easily enough with a PepBoys suction cup, but I wanted to hear suggestions or anyone else's stupid accident stories??? we're alll friends here haha

Lexus Champion
The first day I moved into my condo I backed out of my garage and right into a wall. Scraped the bumper down to the plastic and tore off the left rear corner marker. To add to my embarrassment, the HOA president was walking his dog and witnessed the whole thing.
I was so mortified I just drove off leaving the remains of my corner marker lying there. When I came back the chunks of plastic were gone and the prez never mentioned the damage to the brick wall I had left.

Lexus Test Driver
When I got my new Mazda RX-8 (the first in the state, I think), I was washing and waxing it. I lifted the wipers off the windshield to wipe down the glass, then went to other places on the car. Then, I decided to clean some more under the hood. I lifted the hood, and the raised wiper arm s-c-r-a-p-e-d across the rear edge of the hood, removing the paint. I touched it up, and no one else would ever see it, but I was so mad at myself for doing something so dumb. I think it's worse when there's no one else to blame. I traded the RX-8 in on my V1 six years later.
