Smile First RX!!

Just wanted to introduce myself to you other RX owners out there. I just purchased a 99 RX300. It is the best SUV I've ever owned! I'm sure I will have some questions coming up since I have some cosmetic upgrades coming soon! Let me give you guys thanks in advance for any help and advice you could give me.

We bought ours right after Thanksgiving in November 2004. She is a two tone Sage/Pewter Grey AWD fully loaded 2000 model that started life as a lease vehicle for a doctor up in New York City. Once she hit 50K and 4 years he traded her in for an Acura MDX. A close friend who is an auto broker found her for me up in New Jersey at the Northeastern Auto Auction and had her shipped down to Nashville. I surprised my wife with her on Christmas that year with a big red bow and totally detailed just like in the commercials! She actually screamed when she first saw her!

They have been inseparable ever since. They are like two old friends now. My wife calls her Miss Kitty because she purrs when she drives her. I think she would cry if I ever sold her off. We think our RX is the best vehicle we have ever owned. She has 135K on her odometer and still going strong. We will be getting another one more than likely when the time comes but may still keep her for me to drive back and forth to work. See? The RX is an easy crossover to love.

Welcome! You'll find so much help on this forum. When my daughter's 99 RX dies, I plan to find another RX300. We love it!

We have a similar story to McCloud's but not quite. Our first Lexus was a gold 2001 RX, my husband got in 2004 from a local Lexus dealership. This car came with 39,000 miles on it, a lease return from New York, and all the options--except ML audio and a roof rack. The current mileage is 101 and some odd miles, and the RX, mostly driven by my husband, is well cared for. He wants to keep it as long as he can because a friend of ours has an RX with almost 300,000 miles on theirs, and they drive it on a daily basis. Anyway,we went to a wedding at a major hotel. The next morning, my husband noticed two gouges, actually holes on the driver's side door and another at a slanted angle on the left passenger side door. My husband surmised that the the holes were from the wheels of a suitcase when somone was unloading it from a roof rack and dropped it on our car. We contacted the hotel's manager. He didn't give us any hearing, so my husband wrote to the corporate office in Washington DC, but we were re-directed to the manager. The manager denied, denied, and denied his hotel's responsibility. My husband wrote a review about the incident and posted in on Tripadvisor.com. Go figure. We are really hurt how due to no fault of ours, our sweet car was damaged by some callous people.

Cars in the family:
1999 Corolla
2007 Corolla
2003 Camry
2001 RX 300
2008 ES 350
