I'm a new kid here but I love this forum.
Saw a post a few months back on driver's side visor phlacidity (phlacid-ness?). I pondered over mine for a year and finally fixed it. Removed it, cut into the back seam with an exacto knife. Cut away the styrofoam around the shaft. Then took a wire pinchers and gave each metal area a pinch. Works like brand new. Perfectly re-glued the seam with super glue. Looks and works like new and didn't have to spend $400 to replace the entire thing.

Now, my clunk (or thunk). Weather in Wisconsin is very cold now and I'm not sure if it's related, but when I shot the car off.... after about 5 seconds I hear and feel a "thunk" sound that sounds like it's coming from the rear. Also feels and sounds like it's resonating like in a drum or the gas tank. Any ideas?

This visor info is very intriguing....can you provide more details about the fix?....what glue did you reseal the material with??....did you happen to take any photos during the process???

Any additional information you can provide would be great. There are at probably 10 to 20 people on the board that suffer from the same "limp visor syndrome".

You can do it without cutting the fabric too.

How do you accomplish that with cutting into the fabric?

Had to re-glue the fabric with fabric glue. The picture that was posted is perfect. Just pinch the metal areas a bit to tighten it up. I suppose you could do it without cutting the fabric, but I needed to do that to see exactly where it needed to be pinched. Also, i think cutting the fabric and getting right to the metal made it work better.
