Unhappy 01 RX300 Check Engine, VSC, fumes, engine hesitation

Please help! Re: 2001 Lexus RX300 AWD 117,000mi (frequent oil changes, trans fluid healthy)

About a month ago my check engine light and VSC light came on (intermittently), so I just kept driving it. Finally 2 weeks ago, the code lights stayed on. The symptoms I noticed were hesitating/jumpy engine in low gears. Idle was rough. Decrease in mpgs.
In the last week, I noticed fumes (smelled like normal gas). I saw an abnormal amount of exhaust when idling. I also could smell it, quite a bit, inside the car (all windows were closed).

Got codes read at Autozone:
1. P0171 (O2 sensor upstream)
2. P0174 (O2 sensor downstream)
3. P1130 (A/F)
4. P1150 (A/F)

Next day, car wouldn't turnover. It would start, but no turnover.
Towed to the mechanic. He said it was very flooded. He thought it was badly in need of a tune up. He changed 6 spark plugs, air filter, and oil change.

$500 later, it was running smoothly for a day. Both lights came back on. Reset yellow 20 fuse. Lights still on. SYMPTOMS CAME BACK (jumpy, fumes). (The idle remains smooth, for now, though.)

My b/f does most all of his own auto work, and I would like him to take over on my auto work from here on out.
I just need a diagnosis, please. Any input is deeply appreciated.

Since no one answered, you should change your air fuel sensors. Here's the DIY for your boyfriend to read. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...el-sensor.html

Should I be replacing all THREE sensors (including heat oxygen sensor)? Or just the specific A/F sensors?

I would do the A/F sensors first. Tell your b/f to be careful not to strip the threads when removing the old sensors. Loosen alittle then tighten and repeat until they come out. Replace only with Denso sensors. Try ebay.

Thumbs up Fixed

djchan, thanks! I forgot to update (to you and anyone else who might come across the same problem)...

You're solution, recommending I change my A/F 02 sensors, worked! Hallelujah.
I did buy all three, but my bf only changed the A/F ones (which were black). I reset my dash lights and all is in working condition and running smoothly.

Thanks for your help.
